Mother’s Intuition

She fell faster than she thought,
so fast she couldn't be caught.
She knew she was in for a war,
but it always kept her wanting more.
She was falling in love with him,
her life seemed no longer grim.
Butterflies fluttered constantly.
She tried to approach this love cautiously.
Remembering her mother's advice
"Don't fall in love honey, it's a fool's paradise"
but to her this love was real
it had a foundation strong as steel.
She thought that they were destined
However, a year later she learned her lesson.
He wasn't the same,
a night out together became a pain.
How can this be?
When only a year ago they were so happy.
The way she felt,
like her heart was beginning to melt
hurt like nothing before
now she listens to her mother more.
