Moving on

Don't tell her I still love you
You don't know who I love
Yes, it's true
At one time I fell for you
But you chose a different way
So don't you say
Every time I sway away
That I still burn of passion for you.

Don't get me wrong
I would kiss you now if I could
If I wasn't held by a few things.
For one, you would slap me if I did.
And two, you wouldn't want it.
And why would I kiss a person
Doesn't long to kiss me?
So for those reasons
I fled.
I ran and I ran
Until I found a new friend.

I'm not sure how things will turn.
I tend to lose friends
I don't want them as friends.
Every time I fall
I get a few scrapes
But stepping out of the race
Would just ruin the end.

If things become crazy
And for whatever reason
She seeks you for advice,
I beg you to not say
That although you left in May
In my heart you stay.
For as it is all true
I need to learn how to love
Without the presence of you.
