Mr Bumble’s Affair

The lilac, ladies swayed
Gently in the light breeze
With frilled petticoats
Hitched up to their knees

They teased the old visitor
Who robustly flew along
Bathed in their lovely scent
Charmed by his buzzing song

With his pin stripped suite
And his fuzzy, furry face
He danced with every lady
And gave each bloom a taste

They opened up their petals
He thanked them with a kiss
Then flew off with their pollen
No sweeter dance than this
