Much Longer

The storm sets in
I stand in the rain
Vain attempts to dry off
As the storm rages on

My rope is fraying
My glass is breaking
My heart is shredding
And I'm regretting
The faith I've taken
The trust I've given

Our souls will leave us
Broken and wrong
That is why
I can't hold on
Much longer

Holding onto a barb-wire fence
Taking my blood prisoner
No one helps, no one is a listener
To heaven or hell I prepare to go

My hands are slipping
Eyes are crying
I'm giving up, done trying
God says be strong, but I can't hold on
Much longer, much longer
