My Africa

My Africa, oh my Africa!
Strangers humble themseleves before you,
the mother of civilization,
a place full of gold, diamonds, uranium and oil,
yet you are being trampled on like dirt,
oh, my mother Africa!

Your brave men, beautiful women, kings and
queens have been stolen away to strange lands,
and have long forgotten or lost their heritage,
Oh mother, oh mother, oh mother!

Your lands are filled with the wildest to
the most tamed animals,
from the blazing sun in the morning to
the moon and fireflies at night, you
are the greatest.
My Africa, oh my Africa!
