My Auntie’s Part. . .

By

A few days ago my beloved Aunt packed and moved.
An empathetic friend, an emotional anchor, and
A calm that made me cheer inside - moved.

A few days ago my beloved Aunt packed and moved.
So God could heal her in His helping hands.
Yet I no longer touch that fleshly part of her to feel.

Three abodes of heaven separate me from her.
Our family meets to remember her at our Church.
Our family settles their places at the table.
As a member I talk among our family's stable.
And watch as Auntie's smile lifts me from my spot.
Afterward she and I talked as she blessed me a lot.
But with just a hug she mended my heart -
Like art, music, joy, and love - Auntie's part.
