My Bridge to Happiness

I took my worries and broken dreams
to the old bridge yesterday
I stood on the deck and cast them down
and watched for the water's play

But there was no big splash from that broken dream
No waves to trouble the shore
So one by one I tossed my worries
until my burden was no more

What a strange feeling being light as a feather
why had I worried so much?
This day should have come a long time ago
but then I was out of touch

Had I sought out such trouble on my own
or collected it day by day?
For whatever reason it no longer matters
I've thrown my worries away.
