My child without a name.

I wonder what you'd look like,
but I'll never see your face.
I'll never sing you lullabies,
there's nothing in your place.
I wish that I could dance with you,
and hold your tiny hand.
I wish i'd heard your laughter,
while playing in the sand.
I know there's someone missing,
and I know that I'm to blame.
I hope that you'll forgive me,
my child without a name.
I'll never read you stories,
or tuck you in at night.
If I could turn the clock back,
I'd fight to do what's right.
I see your empty cradle,
and shed my tears in shame.
I just want to say I love you,
to my child who never came.
