My City

My city
Itty bitty,
It's nothing really
Wallace realty.
A burrito buffet
And nights on the town.
It feels like a two block walk
When you're getting around.
An old bell tower that sometime sounds
Salisbury has a district,
It's specifically historic, made of brick
Shootings on the backstreets
A homeless shelter and Food Lion feeds.
Historic homes, statues, and historic ideas
Old ideas are prehistoric, so are the ideals
I hope the newer generations feels
That they will be heard
That when they say the word
The city
Won't be itty
Anymore.
