My Cup Runs Over

All my life I've been looking for that piece away from me
The empty edges bruise my sides , rubbing on my heart
always a reminder of what I'm missing
Careless others try to fill it in, clumsily and heartless,
they seem to just break off another piece
Now almost hollow my fingers grab hold
his smile here, his " I love you's" there
No more edges, no more empty
This is how full complete can be
His touch and his kiss can't even fit
they can't be tucked away or hidden
So I keep him in my eyes and hold him with my kiss
When my hand touches his
we feel the same tingle and burst
Now I am full, so i will cover him
till there is no space
till he forgets empty
and only knows complete

I believe love is always enough. Even before i ever felt it. This poem was written about my guardian angel,my hero, my lover, my best friend. A man that blessed me with his love in return for mine. His name Jimmy Joe Clark.
