My Dad

His name was Milo,
He was one of a kind.
Son, brother, friend & grandpa,
A better Father you wouldn't find.

To us he was the world,
There was nothing he couldn't do.
The rock that held us together,
The one we all ran to.

Dad's Mr. Fix It Shop,
A sign he hung with pride.
A man of many talents,
One you wanted on your side.

It was the little things in life,
He made his top priority.
Country music, his kids, and wife,
A Sunday drive with his family.

His name was Milo,
A simple man was he.
My Dad, My Hero,
Honorable as can be.

This Poems Story

My dad passed away a year ago September 23, 2021. I started this poem right after his death but didn\'t finish the last two verses until a year later. My dad was my world. Learning to live without him has been a journey of its own. The verse about the Dad\'s Mr fix it sign was about a sign I had bought him for his bday one of the first years being on my own years ago and he hung it in the garage. He was a mechanic and it hangs there still.
