My Dark Dark Heart
A Poem….. My Dark, Dark Heart
Oh, we dread the time of evil demise.
To be haunted by hell and victimized.
Will we burn in a brimstone fire?
Shall we pay the price for our lustful desire.
I will hold you with my black wings of despair.
I share with you your falling tears.
We shall start upon the road to redemption.
And we will fight the monster of temptation.
Once upon a night spent dreaming,
I saw in her shadow, her soul arising.
The dark side of innocence was her legacy.
She fed my heart and feeds my fantasy.
Oh hear! Tonight is a lunar event.
The demons are restless and malcontent.
Sorrow for us, is foretold from the start.
Save my soul from my dark, dark heart.

I wrote this as a rebuttal to life’s offering to me. The desire to move on in a relationship that seemed too stymied to move forward.
