My Daughter

It hurts me when I think of you
But that's just what daddies do.
When their little girl has gone away
Who knows how long she's gonna stay?
It hurts me when I go to bed
And wonder where you lay your head.
Could it be upon a bed of stone?
I know you're there all alone.
It hurts me when I start to eat
And wonder if you have a treat,
A candy bar or Mountain Dew.
It hurts me when I think of you.
Is your blanket warm enough?
Is Daddy's little girl getting tough?
I have no one to tell my secrets to.
It hurts me when I think of you.
