My Drug

You're sweet, like candy
I'm high on your charm
Intoxicated by your smile, and your eyes
You lead me to a world I want to believe in
But you're bad for me

You take my love, and you hurt me with it
You reel me in until I'm crying for more
You've crowded my mind with thoughts of you, and only you
You've taken my life and destroyed it until there was nothing left but you
You make each hit stronger than the last
Making me crumble down to dust until my body is satisfied
But it will never be satisfied

I will never be satisfied until you take the drug I offer you
It will stop only when you swallow that pill I give to you in the form of my affection
Once we can both feel the high
And once your mind is finally flowing with thoughts of me
For once

You are my drug
My addiction, my best friend, my only thought
And I want to be yours
I want you to be addicted to my voice
I want to be the drug to take over your life
So I try

I reach out my had farther but you keep pushing it back
Replacing what's in my palm for whats in yours

For now, I guess
I can handle it
I will continue taking that drug, until you finally take mine

This Poems Story

This poem has a very similar story to "Water and Sun". It is about a girl talking about a boy (though it can be interpreted as any 2 genders). The way this is different, is the girl is talking about her "obsession" with the boy. How she's addicted to the thought of him, and wants him for herself. She talks about trying desperately to give him her own drug, her love, but he won't take it. It ends almost the same as "Water and Sun", with the girl accepting the fact that the boy won't take her drug, but stating that she will never give up.
