My Favorite Thing

I love this thing with all I am,
Forever will she majestically stand.
She's green, you see, and stands
For all who are free.
She's as old as Rip Van Winkle,

This Poems Story

"My Favorite Thing" was written in 1986. I was fourteen years old and a resident of a girls' group home (Fall River Deaconess Home School, Fall River, MA). I am now a forty-year-old mother of two- Anthony Dean Paulsen, fourteen, and Angela Elizabeth Paulsen, eleven. I dedicate my life to my heroes, my children. They are my strength and my hope, the light that guides me safely through the roughest waters. I love you, Bubby, and My Shorty.
