It was a dark time,
Seeing you lay there in the hospital,
At death's door,
It made me sad.
And then you died that night,
I did not even get to say good-bye,
I feel a great loss in my heart,
You were gone too soon.
My friend I remember your laughter,
And the times we shared a meal,
How we talked in the wee hours of the morning,
I remember riding the bus to the Mall.
All these memories I will hold dear in my heart,
As I traverse the roads alone,
And as I try and find the light inside,
For every day that I miss you.
