MY GALLANT HERO

For years you parted from us all,
In response to the clarion call,
Who will go for the war afar,
and be our Nation's eyes,?
Who will defend our Nation's fame
And protect our Nation's Name?
Freely you volunteered at your age,
And fought with all your might.
Mum missed you as well as Dad,
Sisters and Brothers all alike.
All waited for your day of return,
That day, that never came to be!
That single day you made a call,
Brought joy unspeakable to us all,
Neighbors ran to hear your voice,
To the rhythm of joy, sisters danced
Mum was excited and missed her meal,
While Dad smiled and spoke the least!
Just few hours after that call,
Came a bang that turned our world,
The Gallant Hero will never come home,
A stray bullet has done its worst!
No way! all yelled in unison
As the news bearer broke down in tears!
Mum and Dad fainted both at once,
Brothers and Sisters lost their stance,
Why and Why, all questioned the silent air,
Expecting answers that never came,
What bullet did the enemies use?
And which soldier shot the deadly missile?
Farewell our gallant and brave Hero,
Au revoir the ambassador of our Nation,
Your heroic songs echo in our hearts,
And your photos remain a comfort source ,
You died defending our Nation ,
So , the Flag flies low in your honor!
