My Grand Old Flag

America and the Grand Old Flag!

Gone and forgotten are the days of old,
and the flag we marched and learned to fold.
Gone and forgotten are the brave and the few,
Life is precious for me...and you.
I will NOT forget the ones in blue or green and you, we are Americans through and through.
We once saw “flag and country” leading the way and now divided every day,
I stand and salute you armed forces friends and flag,
Because of men like my brother who served Ft. Bragg.
The wings of angels we know so well,
They stand for bravery and lived to tell.
I know we think division is key… but there is no difference that I can see.
Freedom and babies young and old is what we protect and what I was told.
Johnny Cash and Robin Williams tell the story of the Grand old Flag,
They tell the story of that old rag. :-)
Through wars and years decades and tears, we salute you old Flag thanks for calming our fears.
I say to you stand for your flag put you hand on your heart, Hug your family and do you part!
We are all Americans proud and free…. and I see no difference between you and me.
