My Heart Is Like...

My heart is like a stone,
Only not so cold and alone.
It has been made what it is today over time,
Being molded into a shape by both love and crime.
It is what makes me unique,
Each blemish is for the strong and not the meek.
With the pressure of everyday life,
I have been reborn and have sacrificed.
People may have kicked me around,
With each word the more I was ground,
But that is what makes my heart the best,
Surpassing all the rest.
The beauty in the layers that make me, me,
I cannot force someone else to see.
But the person that sees my heart true,
Will have the love that is kept by only few.
They will shine me and make all my blemishes go away,
Taking a bigger step each and every day.
It is true my heart is like a stone,
But it is one of a kind and can never be cloned.
