My Heart’s Desire

Wipe these tears, O Lord, Take my fears!
Pull out of hiding, your beloved's heart.
Let this love relationship start!
Who is this woman, awaken her soul.
Help me push aside my desires and press toward the goal!
Bring on the tide of living waters,
Listen, oh my King, as this soul utters!
Praises on high and glory to you.
For what was once old and used, you've made new!
Through these trials, character shines through.
This broken heart yearns for you.
A hope left blowing in the wind.
Me dangling in this body of sin.
My desire fell below idols whom I ran after to find my purpose there.
Why let my mind go wondering the bottom line is I have become aware!
Of the evil spirits that haunt my every move,
looking for that split second my eyes leave yours.
To strike my core hoping to shake my very being,
To the state of Job and his blistering sores.
Don't they know, my God, of your angel armies?
That one day even their leader you will seize.
Of your Mighty power they should tremble.
Join us, Abba, as your sons and daughters assemble!
Putting all hindrances aside and the past behind.
Rebuking the chains that bind!
Pressing beyond the point of suffering, to the joy your hope brings.
