My Inner Child

My inner child wanted to come out to play
No longer content with old ways
Was tired of being locked up you see
My inner child and me

My inner child wanted to stray
Wanted to dream wanted to play
Wanted to find what the world was about
Wanted to scream wanted to shout

My inner child is more selfish than me
Wants to do things differently
And oh now it's a brand new day
All things different in a brand new way

A brand new beginning all new for me
This inner child will now be free
Don't tell me how to live my life
For my inner child now has no doubt
Will fight for all it wants to be
My inner child, my inner child and me
