My Life Line

Forty have written you,
Yet God breathed you.

Thousands have attempted to destroy you,
Hundreds have blasphemed against you,
Multitudes have mocked you.
Yet, your infallibility and inerrancy
has and will prove them folly to the end of time.

For you are my life line,
Living and active in my heart.
Sharper than any two-edged sword,
Piercing as far as the division of my soul and spirit.

The judge of the thoughts
and intentions of my heart.

My anchor in the midst of storms,
My refuge and peace in the midst of uncertainty,
My strength in the midst of brokenness,
My wisdom and direction in the midst of confusion.

The weapon that tames every tongue,
The answer to every question.

Sharing you is my duty,
Living for you is my life,
Dying for you is my gain.
