My Life Matters Because

My life matters because I am human
I'm not white but I want to lead the country
Like Truman.
My life matters because I have a dream
like Martin.
And hope one day that my words aren't forgotten.
My life matters because of my skin
With thoughts so thick and patience so thin.
My life matters because I am
One of God's creations
Like Jesus.
I fight for what's right put in nothing
But hardwork and dedication.
My life matters because I am a Queen
Melanian in my blood
And greatness in my genes.
My life matters to whom does it concern
My people fought all their life
So justice is what we earn.
My life matters because I am Black
And yes I am proud
Our skin is what make us stand out in a crowd.
My life matters can you guess why?
Because I am human
And my come up is on a rise.
