My Mother’s Words

My mother's words is like no other.
Love is a strong word be careful how use it.
Don't abuse it girl,
she always say imbedded in my mind through out time.
It's not a water hose that you turn on and off.
Love does not have boss.
Love should never have a cost.
Listen to me girl get that head in them books
because so them men out there,
giving you looks with their hooks taking your innocent like crooks.
I will tell her mamma please I hear you.
Child you hear, listening, pay attention
to these words because one day I will not be here
to guide you with the trust and understanding.
Now that she is gone to be her maker.
My mother's word I will take with me.
As I sip my tea with my own daughter.
They will be become my words pass on to my daughter.
