My Normal Family

I am part of an interesting family
And I refuse to believe that
We are normal
I realize this may be a shock, but
"Happiness comes from family,"
Is a lie, and
"Money is more important."
In 15 years, I will tell my children that
Work is more important than
I tell you this:
Families stay together
But this will not be true in my era
Experts tell me
Many people divorce
I do not conclude that
We will always be together
In the future,
We will forever be alone
No longer can it be said that
"I love you," is normal
It will be evident that
We will forget one another
It is foolish to presume that
There is hope
And all of this will come true unless we reverse it
