My Own Best Friend

Where does my road turn from only grey
Lessons giving me unearned dues at end of day

Tears I'll no longer waste nor share
With insecurities of barely being there

Wasting time with ones who don't see
The beauty that lies within me

See the error of all my wrongs
By only one there who was all along

And then one day as it comes to an end
I realize I was always my own best friend
