My Papa

My papa was a simple man.
He ate Beanie-Weanies straight from a can.
He loved his family, He loved practical jokes.
He also loved Diet Pepsi's- not Cokes.
He read his Bible, He prayed everyday.
If you were sad, He knew what to say.
He wore Lee jeans and button down shirts
And if we were at Huddle House, he knew how to flirt.
He loved his garden, he loved outside.
I remember the four wheeler we would always ride.
He loved SpongeBob Squarepants and western films.
As for me, I just love him.
My papa was simple.
My papa loved life.
He loved his family.
He loved his wife.
He loved the idea of Heaven above.
There were many things that my papa loved.
Although it may take time for our pain to cease.
I really love that my papa is at peace.
