My red head friend

There’s this picture I try to paint
Of a memory that seems so faint
One about some time long ago
I can’t claim that I still know

A time when a smile came like the rain
A time where giggles replaced the pain
That’s the picture I try to paint
The one in which I try to reacquaint

My quirky crooked smile reunited
My dull sparkless eyes reignited
A silent soul now at peace
Since it’s suffering decreased

A painting finally complete
Nothing else could compete
Fine red lines curl to make a crown
And a face that’s never seen a frown

A portrait to rival all the others
Nothing can compare to these colors
A jolt of sweet joy to revive a heart
Truly a remarkable piece of art
