When I was a child I used to run inside and play
I always found some happiness, made the best of my day
My brothers, my sisters and my mom always made me smile
But even my smiles faded after a while
When Dad came home, he was always in a bad mood,
This ended the day and the night with hunger and abuse.
The abuse got so bad, my mom got us away from Kentucky to
New York on a late night in May.
I had a hard time, held a lot of anger in my heart.
Then they took me from my mom and left us apart.
All I want to do is go home and be happy, get back to my family
How we're always happy and laughing.
But I'll be going home soon, before the end of the year
To be together once again, one rock, one tear.
Smooth roads never make good drivers.
Smooth seas never make good sailors.
Clear skies never make good pilots.
Problem and hassle free life
Never make a strong person be strong enough
To accept the challenges of life.
Don't ask life "Why me?" instead say "Try me!"
