My Son Who Shines

As I contemplate there's many things I've done throughout my life:
I've felt my share of love as well as my fair share of strife.

But thankfully I have a root, a rock that keeps me strong;
A light throughout the darkness God has sent to lead me on.

When overwhealmed with circumstance, I search deep down within;
For what can make me who I am and lift me once again.

It's by the grace of God I have a Son to shed his light;
Thru him the lord above has brought me purpose in my life.

It's meant for me to hold his hands and guide him thru the land;
For soon the time will be at hand, my Boy will be a Man.

His choices and his actions will reflect how he was taught;
A since of pride will rise inside when paradise is sought.

Distinguished as a Gentleman, a Prince in all his grace;
A vast amount of glory seems to shine within his face.

An Orchestra of Angels seem to flow out with his speech;
I know that he's the best thing that has ever come from me.

I almost feel unworthy in the mist of my own seed;
No matter what or where somehow Ill grant his every need.

Tho tribulations come and go, my love will never fade;
We'll put this darkness far behind, in light of better days.
