My Summer Day

I lowered myself into the grass so inviting,
about a Summer day I began writing...
Surrounded with beauty so divine,
while summer stole this heart of mine.
The wonderful aroma's that smell so sweet to my nose,
and the wonderful sight of a beautiful rose.
The gentle tickle of the grass on my feet,
songs of the birds that sound so sweet,
the bright and vivid colors of the flowers all around,
yet everything's so peaceful not even a sound.
Butterflies so many they are coming and going,
when a heart needs mending Summer starts sewing.
The sound of the stream is barely a trickle,
while the brush of a butterfly gives me a tickle.
The calming whisper as the trees gently sway,
nothing like the feeling of a beautiful Summer day!
