My Vision

Last night I had a vision

I dreamt about my son

He wrapped his arms around me

And said, I love you Mom

But he had died some time ago

So this could not be true

Yet he stood right in front of me

With tender eyes so blue

He was tall and handsome

And his smile lit up the room

He brought a ray of sunshine

To chase away the gloom

When I awakened from my dream

Tears falling to the floor

I knew he came to tell me,

Mom, weep for me no more

This Poems Story

I was raised in rural Ontario near Lake Huron, the middle of three girls. I married my soul mate and we were blessed with two children, a boy and a girl. When our son died suddenly at age eleven it devastated our family. Our daughter married a fine young man and gave us five beautiful grandchildren to love. When my older sister died of cancer it shook my very soul. I wrote my first poem, put it in a drawer and forgot about it. When my husband died suddenly, and six months later my best friend, I felt lost. I joined an online poetry site and started writing poems. Putting my thoughts into words helped me heal and my hope is to help others who have had losses in their lives too. If we believe, life can be good again.
