My world used to know me

My world used to know me
A small special haven
A bubble just for me
A world to myself
A place to call home
Not a house that’s empty
Not a world torn
Not a place i want to leave as soon as i can afford
My world used to know me
Five hundred at a time
Not too many faces
Familiar’s always fine
My world used to know me
A world just for me
Not one cold and faceless,
Uncaring and unkind
Not one that ignores me,
that i cannot recognize
This world is a new one
Not one left behind
A world built from memories
Nostalgia painted kind
No one wants to stay
No one wants to fly
Living in a world
That isn’t truly mine
