My Yellow Kitchen Towels

Do not underestimate
My sense of perspective
Remember, even dried leaves give me joy
What more of my yellow kitchen towels?
With printed daisies on it?
Which wiped up the spill
Of our cold dinner,
Of left-over meat
And rice soaked in pandan leaves
What more of my yellow kitchen towels?
Which wiped away my tears
Etched in the molave table
Dried my distressed hands
From dishes and laundry
Well, you may deprive me of glee
From time to time
But with my yellow kitchen towels?
You can’t rob me off my grace
In wiping the grime
