Never Even Loved You

Oh darling, he never even loved you.
Those three words rolled off his lips like dew off a leaf.
His lips were the first to brush yours,
Giving you an illusion that a painting may emerge.
His smile was your sun after your age of darkness.
Your life became a book of only him.
But little did you know,
You were a mere line in his.
Your smile gave off no light.
Fate would have that his lips brushed hers all while holding you.
Those three words he had promised her,
And you were but a toy.
Oh darling don't you see?
You meant nothing to this boy.
