Never the Same

The night I left,
before I packed the truck,
my heart was breaking,
worst of luck.
He is my all, my everything,
without him,
I won't be the same.
He showed me love,
gave me life,
loved my son,
it cuts like a knife.
I had to leave,
let him be.
Who would have thought
he'd give up on me?
Nothing changes
or stays the same.
Life goes on,
I have nothing to gain.
I feel so empty, incomplete.
In the beginning
I showed the real me.
I can't take it back,
I did what I did.
Now no one will know me,
I'll be completely hid.
