New Beginnings

By

The waterfall cascades,
The sun glows
The bird's chirp
The little baby burps
The world turns as if nothing happened
But my world churned
No butter

The amethyst dream glided through the air,
Like the New England evergreen scene
For the last time
The dirt road, marking home was lost
Never to be again
Late night conversations about different nations
Never cease to play within my head

Didn't even get a chance to grieve
Had to pull myself together to let her breathe
Never knew just what you meant to me
Until the color ran from me

It happened too quickly
But knew I had to brace for it
Nobody will ever be able to replace
The way it was
