New Season

New Season
The butterflies hovering all inside me,
The turf under my feet rumbling,
The deaf feeling and word mumbling,
And then the touch of the ball and in-game insanity.
The ball is snapped,
First sounds of a new season,
Hit after hit,
Then the next play starts with a stronger reason.
In the air we can smell victory,
Completely on our side,
The game ends,
And the fans cheer us on with pride.
