Night Walker

Night Walker

The fog creeps over the earth, the air is cool and damp
She walks alone, the only light flickering from a street lamp on the corner
She is alone yet she nervously looks over her shoulder because her inner instinct senses another.
She hastens her pace holding onto her iPhone, wondering how fast she could dial 911 if anything…
Her breath catches, she is almost home, she turns the key and lets out the breath she has been holding since she got off the bus 5 blocks away.
She wishes she didn’t have to be alone at a time like this. She has read and heard countless stories of rape and assault, but she really doesn’t know what she would do if G-d forbid she was attacked.
Without a man or even just another girlfriend by her side, she just relies on her faith in G-d to protect her. And, Thank G-d, its worked so far.
No mace, no Taser, no rape whistle.
Just her quickened gait and her faith.
