A tender touch hand in hand,
Sweet as dawn light shines.
When daylight breaks,
I see your smile.
Your words so soft and true,
My mind is blank when I'm around you.
Wrapping your arms around my waist and pulling me close,
You don't let me go until night falls.
A strong wall is built around me,
Stones piled up on one another.
Piece by piece the wall falls down,
And the more I let you in.
My heart is locked,
And you hold that key.
If my heart were to be unlocked,
I'm afraid I'll lose you.
A look filled with confidence meets my gaze,
The moonlight shimmering on your smiling face.
Shadows bounce around us,
With what little time we have left together.
Time passes us slowly,
And then you finally walk away.
It's not the last goodbye we'll ever say,
Until the next day I hear your voice.
