Nine Eleven

The glistening stronghold collapsed,
mercilessly dragging the clouds
down alongside it.

They entangled with each other,
turning into a fog that turned everything it touched
to stone,
coating tired lungs
with uncrackable cement.

Above, the newly cleared sky
was unworried as the storm
continued on below,
two fold.
