No Hiding

Run.
I can almost see the sun.

Run.
Can't help but think, "This isn't fun."

Run!
How can this be someone's son?

Run!
"Places to hide?" a laugh and, "There are none!"

This Poems Story

My name is Destiny Downing. I am seventeen and have been writing since fifth grade when my teacher made me step up my game. I graduated this year with an associate's degree. I am the eldest out of four girls. My mom has supported me every step of the way through college and in my writing. My family are the ones that have been my biggest support group and fans and I wouldn't be anything without them. I have always loved the arts but it hasn't been until recently when my grandfather died, that I actually start putting my writings out there. This poem was actually inspired by my book I am writing. I was trying to get a scene to flow together when I put down something similar to this poem. So I wrote this separate from my book and I decided I really like it.
