No One

She isn't drowning,
Literally
But she may as well be.
Sinking in a sea of hunger
Sickness,
Desperation,
Screaming at the top of her lungs
For everyone...
For someone...
For anyone...
For no one.
Everyone's head is conveniently turned,
Someone doesn't care enough to respond,
Anybody could help but won't,
No one listens
To her final labored breath
To the sound of her giving up.
And she slips beneath the waves,
Becoming just another victim
In the vast ocean of poverty.
