No Turning Back

He said no turning back from that which took his heart
And take it surely did, by tearing love apart
It took him like a whirlwind with endless, seizing force
Leaving behind it wreckage with pieces of remorse
As angels lie weeping, demons seeking flesh
They wonder of the life with him who said they weren't worth keeping
Tortured they may feel with a wrought sense of being
This life that has transformed is not the life they're leading
For when others thought they'd break, they decided to prevail
Appreciating heartache and offering their bail
Freed from their chains they fly, never to again cry alack
For him who said no turning back
