Nobody Needs Another Me

As children, we are told that we are all special
And unique
As children, we are told that we can become anything
And live our dreams

When we grow up, we are always asked what we want to be
What our interests are
When we grow up, we are supposed to choose our future
What our purpose will be

I look around at what others want to become
And what others can become
I look around at all of those better than me
And more qualified

Nobody needs another me in the world
We have too many
Nobody needs one more teenager stuck on the same dream
We already have enough

But nobody else has seen the world through my eyes
Nobody knows the world like I do

Nobody might need me right now
But nobody can ever replace me
