Northern Nightlights

The neon color,
Dancing across the sky,

In a parade,
The occasion,
Only life its self,

I watch in adoring wonder,
As the colors flow across the mid-night sky,

Blue,
Green,
Yellow and red,
Colors of the rainbow,

Each spilling their story into the sky,
For the clouds to read and for us to tell,

A play,
A story,
A tale of happiness,
And as the sun rises,
The colors fade,

Their story ends for now,
But will forever live on in my heart,
Never to be forgotten,
