Not Today
it gets lonely
when you're stuck, undone
hair growing. no one
to talk to. only
its too easy to focus
on the smoke, the ember
forgotten. but remember
when the fire woke us.
when you're isolated
it's hard. phones can't show stones
sewn on or own matches thrown
to hated image. beating truncated.
but it's not their fault.
no one can notice what
they don't see. infected cuts
can bleed, leading breath to halt.
Not today; it's hard to
say. you're not alone. find
water to prevent the fire; truly, kind
actions go farther than anyone can know.
