Not Worth It

She began her long drive in silence.
Loving the summer sun as it beamed down through the clear window.
She couldn't wait to enjoy the ocean breeze with her family again.
Driving seemed to take an eternity.
She received a text message.
Hearing it only because her phone was on vibrate.
She reached across the mountain of bags in the passenger seat.
Attempting to check her message.
She lost all control of her vehicle.
Flipping the car multiple times.
She got severely injured.
Struggling to move.
She reflected on her hazardous mistake.
Knowing that message was not worth it.
