Nothing At All

You fell my heart like an ancient tree,
and it floated off into a sea of dreams.
I watched as it drifted into the abyss...
"Is this all worth a few moments of bliss?"
Like the sweet piercing sting of a vampire's kiss,
it will make your heart burst apart at the seams!
but no one will be there to hear when you scream...
when your soul cries out for anything that breathes!
but the darkness reveals a glimmer of light,
that hides in the shadows like a crippling blight!
Fiercely you fight but in the end you will fall,
as your heart withers up into something quite small,
what once was blinding has given new sight
and all that's left seems like nothing at all.
