Nuances Of Genuine Life

I know addictions
Like I know breathing
They´re everywhere
Like an airborne disease
It spreads faster than a winter cold
I know it because not only do I live it
But I see it all around me
I see the way a lady makes a sour face at her tea
When she doesn't get the icy tang
That vodka used to satisfy her with
I see the way my friend uses a spoon to spread peanut butter
Because knives make her relapse
I see my uncle fill his lungs with tar
As he exhales a smoky scent
I see metabolisms ruined
From the lack of eating
But the routine of purging
These aren't people playing games
It's people who haven't given up
